The Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP) is an assessment instrument that focuses on conflict behaviors in the workplace. I use it as a tool for coaching individuals and strengthening teams.
The CDP provides a powerful way to improve self-awareness of how one typically “shows up” in conflict. It also provides a practical guide for improving behaviors that promote collaboration and effective conflict resolution.
It addition to creating a detailed profile of a respondent’s conflict behaviors, the CDP identifies the unique triggers, or “hot buttons,” that they find particularly bothersome.
Two versions of the instrument, the CDP-Individual and the CDP-360, are available. The former is completed by the respondent alone. The latter, 360-degree version enables up to 30 colleagues to provide feedback as to how they perceive the respondent’s approach to conflict.
The CDP is a validated assessment that has been taken by over 12,000 businesspeople. It can be completed online in about 20 minutes.
